Indian women are now balancing a career and home. And they are falling prey to constant stress. A few tips to help them feel better, right at the work place.
Take off your shoes while you are at your desk. It's an instant de-stresser. Wriggle your toes and give them a quick massage. It's a kind of acupressure therapy.
Drink water. Keep a glass of water by your side and take little sips through the day. Remember, a hydrated body feels fresh and energetic.
Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Salads are nutritious high-energy foods. Bring a lunch that includes a salad and ends with a fruit. Avoid fatty foods.
Avoid smoking. Smoke cuts down on the oxygen supply in the room as well. This brings down your energy level.
If you are in a closed room, get into the open and inhale fresh air every now and then. Savour a few minutes of sunlight.
Walk around a bit. Climb a few stairs every now and then. Work out the kinks in your muscles.
Spend at least ten minutes meditating. Just shut your eyes and concentrate on your breathing. Do this twice a day. It will make your brain sharper and keener.
Rest your eyes from the C syndrome. Computers make your eyes tired and weary. Cup your eyes in your palms. Do simple eye exercises.
Visit the toilet at least twice a day. It isn't healthy to hold it in. And it certainly isn't healthy to abstain from fluids either. Flush the toxins out of your system.
Enjoy your job. That is the biggest stress-buster.
