Are you serious about your career? Or obsessed with it? If it is the latter, then you are in big trouble, lady.

Not only will it blight your home and house, your health will go down hill too.

But sadly, most workaholics are in denial. Take the first step. Admit and accept your problem. And then go about solving it.

  • Listen to what your family and friends say about your working habits. Are you missing out on a lot of social occasions because of your job? Are they getting together without you very many times?

  • Are your personal relationships faltering? Do people take your absence for granted or do they resent it? Are you being informed about small events and happenings in the family circle?

  • Ask yourself honestly    what else are you interested in, besides your job?

If you can honestly see that your life is not balanced, then you are indeed walking down the wrong path in life. Important as a career is in our lives, it shouldn't be the only thing that matters.

Why deny yourself a wholesome personality? Why not include some hobbies, interests and relationships to make life more enjoyable?

Workaholics tend to be unhealthy people. For one, they endure more stress. Secondly they don't make time to exercise or work out. And they don't pay attention to what they eat. They grab a bite when they need food. More often than not, it isn't a healthy snack.

Why would anyone want to put off enjoying life till they have retired? That's more than two thirds of life having gone by! Are you ever going to relive your youth? Or watch your children grow? Can you make up for all the missed milestones in your life?

It has been clinically proved that being a workaholic has nothing to do with enjoying your job. It's viewed as an obsession that deprives you of the other aspects of life.

So shed your fixation and start living again. Life is waiting for you. All of it.
