
Radha Basu is a formidable woman who combines multiple facets and talents as a businessperson, technology expert, social activist, with the traditional gender based roles of wife, mother, favourite aunt and gracious hostess.
Spanning two countries, two diverse cultural and social family structures, Radha is the epitome of the modern Indian woman. Hailing from Chennai, Radha Ramaswamy was educated at Good Shepherd Convent. She took her Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from the University of Madras, followed by a Masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Southern California, and is also a graduate of the Executive Management Program from Stanford University.
Her expertise in technology was nurtured and established in Hewlett Packard where her twenty years' career graph was marked by many achievements. As General Manager in HP she set up the Electronic Business Software division in Bangalore and was responsible for providing internet based e-business solutions to customers and channel partners worldwide.
While trekking in the Himalayas, (her favourite leisure time activity with a unique achievement of having reached the base camp of Mount Everest), she was inspired to scale new peaks and chart out fresh territory. Her vision resulted in Support.com. From 1999, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company and became Chairman of the Board in January 2001. The organization provides e-support infrastructure software. As a result of Radha's sustained pioneering efforts, it has emerged a global market leader.
Ms.Basu is also a Director on the Board of SEEC, Inc and Connectinc.com and has been involved in strategic and investment consulting for start-up companies in the challenging area of internet.
Radha has gained multiple recognition for her professional achievements such asThe 2000's San Francisco Women on the Web Leader of the Millennium award for advancing the number of women on the Internet to nearly half the Internet population and helping women in technology related fields.

The Excelsior Leadership Award in 1997.Her care and concern for the community is reflected in her association with Maitri. She is the co-founder of the counselling and support group for South Asian women. She has hosted many mentoring workshops and is on the Board of Trustees of Business and Professional Women.
Radha is a dynamic public speaker and has presented keynote addresses at various forums including The Forbes Executive Women's Summit; Stanford Business School's Women's Conference; Comdex; and Silicon India's Annual Technology and Entrepreneurship Conference.
Radha met her husband at an electronic conference in Los Angeles and has a daughter, Jhumki. It has not been easy managing home, work, a daughter and a commitment to positive inputs into community work. The cohesive sharing of all aspect of their lives has helped Radha and Deepak become a successful couple. Sometimes they have had to swap looking after the baby between official trips at airports. Radha has also managed to move with Deepak back to India and again to the US so that the family could keep its unity and retain their individual professional lives.
Experience with different people, varied cultures and accepting her mistakes and achievements as results of her own judgements and actions, identifies Radha as an unique woman. She makes immense demands of her associates but contributes equally, if not more, on her part. She recognizes the possibilities and limitations of her staff and has learnt to exploit their best capabilities to the advantage of the organization.
Radha is a woman who weaves the threads of the various parts of her life into a wonderful tapestry that is colourful, practical and one that adds value to the environment. She is one of many women who are showcasing the success of a loving, efficient, successful and concerned person to home, family and society.
