Flying and travel can be stressful. Have you ever considered natural remedies while travelling? You may not be carrying the medicines you require to combat your condition, but you definitely want relief. Are there natural remedies that can work? The most common problems women travelers face are related to menstruation and abdominal cramps. How can you alleviate these conditions, mid air?

Pre-menstrual tension ( PMT)
A lot of people do not believe this exists! But those who suffer from it, know otherwise! It's that horrible time of the month..what can you do about it? Try to avoid flying during this time, if you can. Re- schedule your trip abroad or avoid starting a new job abroad during these days. Don't get on to an all-day sight seeing tour
In short, avoid doing anything stressful during these days.

Looking For Relief?

  • Try some mild Yogic exercises, especially breathing exercises.
  • Warm baths
  • Dab lavender oil onto your handkerchief and inhale periodically for temporary relief.
  • Stress busting activities like light reading, listening to music or light meditation can also help relieve the symptoms.
  • Try not to push yourself.
  • Rest, if you need to
  • Vitamin B tablets can help.
  • If you are not carrying the Vitamin B tablets, supplement your diet with bananas, egg, fish, fresh vegetables and dairy produce.

Abdominal Cramps

  • Gently massaging your ankles can ease period cramps, since the ankle area corresponds to the ovaries.
  • Gently massage the lower abdominal area with Lavender oil.
  • Any form of meditation alleviates pain, including period pain.
  • Lie flat on the floor, with arms by your side. Inhale and exhale slowly, while concentrating on relaxing each part of your body, starting with the toes. Do this for 5 -8 minutes, turn slowly on to your side, and get up.
  • Resting it out will help.
  • Carry a hot water bag if that helps. Or request the airline / hotel for one
