Programmes take longer than usual to load
Programmes function abnormally, crash for no reason
Available disk space decreases rapidly
Programmes access multiple drives
`Smileys` appear on screen
Programmes generate undocumented messages
What`s the cure?
Turn off the PC
Boot from a clean write-protected floppy disk
Use an anti-virus programme to scan repair hard disk
Scan all floppy disks including back-up files
If all else fails, bring in the professionals
