Computers are fun and
computers are useful. But if you are sitting in front of one, the whole day, remember that it could cause stress. Occasionally,
take a break from your work and do these simple yoga exercises. They will relax your muscles and relieve your stress.
While inhaling, lift your shoulders up to your ears. Then exhale and at the same time let them drop again. Repeat 3
times.
Stand (or sit at your desk) with your feet planted firmly on the ground. Inhale and raise
the arms out to the side, with palms down. Exhale and rotate the palms up, rolling the shoulders back.
Take your hands behind your back and interlock the fingers. Stretch the shoulders back and expand the chest. Take
several breaths. Make sure that your head stays in the mid-line and that your eye gaze is on the horizon.
Stand by the wall and extend your right arm. Place the palm on the wall with the fingers up. While exhaling, turn
your chest away from your extended arm, taking the shoulder blade into the torso.
Stand by your
desk and place your palms on the desktop with the fingers pointing toward your body. Gently stretch the lower arm and
wrist.
Reach the right arm into the air. Exhale and bend the elbow and touch your back as far as you
can stretch, but between the shoulder blades. Release and repeat on the other side.
Sit on your
chair with bones pressing into the chair and your feet planted firmly on the floor. Extend the side torso, and twist to the right
(while exhaling), keeping the right hand on the back to chair and left hand on the side of the chair. Hold for a few breaths and
then repeat the other side.
