VIRUS Any executable computer programme that has the ability to replicate flawlessly and which
converts other executable programmes into its clones. WORM A mutated virus that tries
to infect as many computers as possible using a medium like the e-mail. It usually hits your system when a recipient opens an attachment and wipes out documents, spreadsheets and other important files. TROJAN HORSE A Trojan horse is a programme in which a malicious or harmful code is contained inside
apparently harmless programming or data in such a way that it can get control and do its chosen form of damage, such as ruining the
file allocation table on your hard disk. HACKER Writes such computer programmes just
for the heck of it and breaks into computer systems to prove a point. The motive can sometimes be just fun, sometimes profit and
sometimes even political.
