Most people think that the mouse is the only way one can get around the computer. But there is a much simpler way, which is, with the keyboard. Surprised? So are most people! In fact, if you use the keyboard more often, it could release some of the pressure on your thumb and pointer. Try these simple keyboard commands. And look out for some more tips!

Create a new document:

Ctrl + N

Open a document :

Ctrl + O

Close a document:

Ctrl + W

Save a document:

Ctrl + S

Find a specific piece of text:

Ctrl + F

Go to a particular page number :

Ctrl + G

Undo the immediate action:

Ctrl + Z

Select all the text:

Ctrl + A

Change the font type:

Ctrl + Shift + F

Change the font size:

Ctrl + Shift + P

Increase the font size proportionately. Block the sentence and

Ctrl + ]

Decrease the font size proportionately. Block the sentence and

Change the case of letters:

Shift + F3

Make the selected text bold:

Ctrl + B

Underline the selected text:

Ctrl + U

Underline the words but not spaces: Block the sentence and

Delete the word to the left:

"+" sign denotes that the keys on either side need to be pressed simultaneously, and F1, F2, etc. denote the function keys on the top line of your keyboard.
