Wedding planner - Getting
started
What does a wedding consultant do?
As a wedding consultant, your job would be to helps clients, especially
those on a budget, rediscover a simple and yet elegant way of conducting weddings that are different.
You could always start
in a simple, informal way. Begin by helping friends and family with their weddings and functions. Get to know what goes into it.
Make and keep contacts of venues and vendors.
Soon you will be known as a person who can make life easy for these important
occasions. Get to know all about different components that go into putting a wedding in place. The details are most important.
Observe when you go to other functions. Notice all that is right and wrong. Ask around for information. Check who did what. What is
available where. Think of ways you could have done better. Make notes. Research the market. Make a resource diary.
This diary should contain the name of every kind
of possible resource you'd need for a wedding: from the furniture hirers, mantaps, to caterers , parlours, mehndiwalis, to
invitation card printers and so on.
A lot can go wrong if you don't know how to go about it. You might have to work like
part of the family. Its fun. It's a great responsibility too.
