Making money? Working long hours? Always on the go? Been there, done it all? The gloss has worn off the high profile job. It leaves you jaded and disinterested. Bored and frustrated. You want to opt out of the rat race.

Well, if you're brave enough to step off the beaten path and ready to look for new vistas - there are some interesting options you would care to look at. But are you ready for them?

• Adventure activities. There are plenty of people who are looking for activity filled holidays, with a bit of adventure thrown in. All they need is someone to guide them and organise things for them. Adventure activity promoters are now making their presence felt. They organise holidays filled with treks, river rafting, camping, jungle walks, mountain climbing etc. This concept is fast becoming popular - and with it comes whole new lifestyles and careers. If you are an outdoor person, you might want to sign up - and make a whole new career for yourself.

• Holiday resorts. A few people, who aren't scared to think differently, take a couple of months off during the summer and choose to work at a holiday resort. And when they're done with their working hours - they're free to tour the place and enjoy themselves. Not only do they get away from the stifling office atmosphere for a couple of months - they also get a free holiday and get paid as well. More often than not, they're provided with boarding and lodging too. This may not sound much at first - but there are people who have visited new places and even new countries - by working in International resorts. There is always a demand for more personnel during the summer at the resorts.

• Youth organisations. Working for a youth organisation could change your perception of life altogether. Empowering, enlightening and educating the youth can be one of the most rewarding ways to live life. To augment and develop the awareness and the aspirations of the younger people will encourage them to live up to their potential and become able responsible citizens.
