Mudra Institute of Communications

Founded in 1991, the Mudra Institute of Communications (MICA) was the initiative of the Mudra Foundation for Communication, Research and Education. It is situated in Shela, Ahmedabad.

VITAL STATISTICS

The institute offers a two-year postgraduate diploma programme in marketing communications. The focus is on the 'consumer' and 'communication'.

In the second year, students opt for specialisation in marketing research, direct marketing, account management or media planning and marketing. In the final term, students prepare a thesis on their particular area of specialisation.

Projects to help students utilise the techniques and tools they have mastered during the course include the rural research programme, where students stay in villages for 15 days to understand rural customers, and summer internships to gain experience at advertising agencies or media and marketing organisations. Students also have to visit shops, beauty parlours and stores to observe customer behaviour.

Advertising agencies, media houses and marketing research agencies like Sony, Zee TV, Trikaya Grey, HTA, Lintas, Ogilvy & Mather, ORG-Marg, Times of India, Plus Channel, Indian Express, IMRB and Channel [V] prefer MICA for campus recruitment.
