Working in call centres

What are the advantages to outsourcing to India?

  • Large Educated Population: India is home to the largest educated English-speaking population in the world. Entrance into reputed Colleges and Universities in India are even more competitive than the best in the U.S.
  • Low Turnover:Customer care centers in the United States experience very high turnover, usually 40% to 70% per year. Considering the time and costs associated with training new agents, it becomes difficult to maintain quality service at a low cost. Since Indian call centers have only an average 5% of turnover.
  • Low Costs: Compared to American call centers, outsourcing with i2c would save you at least 50% in operational expenses.
  • Complimentary Time Zone: The time zone difference between the U.S. and India is about 12 hours. This means that a job submitted in the evening at 6 p.m. PST, reaches India at 6 a.m. and is completed by 6am PST the following morning - saving you an entire work day!
  • Who is currently maintaining call centers in India?
Corporate giants in the United States, Europe, and Japan are increasingly looking to India for cost-effective and high-quality outsourcing solutions. In fact, a World Bank-funded study in the United States confirmed that vendors rated India as their number one choice for outsourcing. Early adopters of this business model include several of the world`s leading multinationals such as GE, British Airways, Conseco Inc., IBM, McKinsey, Ford, Citibank and Microsoft. These organizations have successfully established India-based remote services, including call centers and helpdesks. India has also effectively provided efficient software solutions to Fortune 500 companies. Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Wal-Mart, AT&T, Reebok, General Motors, Sony, Boeing, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, SwissAir, United Airlines, Philips, General Electric, IBM, Reebok, Lucas, British Aerospace, General Motors, and Sears are some companies relying on companies in India.
  • How big is the Outsourcing industry in India?
According to a recent study by McKinsey for Nasscom (National Association of Software Services Companies), Customer Interaction Services out of India are set to be a US $ 33 billion business by 2008.
  • Where in India is the Outsourcing industry located?
India`s Ousourcing industry is centered in five major cities: Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai (Bombay), Madras and Hyderabad.
