The steps you take immediately after the fair are the first steps toward a long and successful business relationship. All of your efforts and investment will go down the drain, if you don't follow up promptly on the contacts you made at the trade fair.

  • Keep a book handy to jot down any specific information a particular client was seeking. Ensure that you collect the visiting card of each visitor and keep it safely.

  • The information you promised, the follow-up call or letter, the order of confirmation should be your first priority once you return to your company.

  • Send a letter of thanks to each and everyone who visited your stall. It's a good way to remind them about you. However, make sure you don't send a letter of thanks six months after the fair, as it is a poor indication of your reliability and follow-through.
