Beauty plays a major part in today's world. Beauticians must be amongst the most sought after people nowadays - especially those who excel in their field of work.

The profile of a beautician has changed tremendously in the last decade or two. Their profession isn't about working in a tiny little parlour all their lives. The kind of places they get to work in nowadays is quite amazing. It's little wonder then - that there are so many aspirants wanting to join the beauty profession.

Let's take a look at the opportunities that are now open to this glamorous profession.

  • All cruise liners need a beauty salon on board. If you manage a job on aboard a luxury liner, you could see the world for free - even as your career flourishes. Blue seas, long days, rich clientele and generous tips, free accommodation and food - something that most of us would give a hand and leg for! All one needs is the right qualification and skill!

  • Would you prefer a job away from the maddening crowd? Well - it could well come your way! Many luxury health farms or spa centres right out in the countryside need a beautician to augment their services. A relaxed pace of work in idyllic surroundings - and you're honing your skills all the while!

  • Did you know that nowadays long distance airliners also provide a beautician's services on board? Don't you think that further opens up the scope of travel? And the number of countries that one could see! A beautiful profession and a beautiful way of living, what?

  • If you prefer the world of glamour - well, there's plenty of scope for beauticians there. Film stars, models, beauty pageants, wanna bees, have beens etc - not one of them would have a career in the glam world - if it wasn't for beauticians. There's in great demand in the tinsel world.

  • If something steadier is your style - you could choose to teach at a beauty course at the vocational centre.

  • Or if there is an entrepreneur in you - you could open up your own salon.

  • No holiday resort is complete without a beauty parlour. So pick the destination of your dreams and start applying. When you've had your fill of this place - you can move onto another place. Within a few years - you would have spent time in all the beautiful holiday spots.

So don't associate a career in beauty with poky little parlours. There's so much more to them than that nowadays.
