Don't expect a warm welcome after a long absence from office. The attitude of a colleague may frustrate you. Many are not aware of the various sicknesses people are prone to. They might fear about things like -what if you are still not fully cured, What if the infection is still lurking in you!

When the employee gets back to work from a medical leave, it is quite likely that drastic changes may have taken place in the office.

Follow these tips before you get back to office:

Submit proof

Submit a medical certificate from your doctor. This is required for long leave on medical grounds.

Ask HR

Check with the Human Resources Department about the medical reimbursement policy of the company.

Be Positive

Don't feel bad that you had to be away and you have missed out the changes that have happened in your absence.

Thank the well-wishers

Thank the well-wishers for their concern and best wishes for your fast recovery.

Up date yourself

Ask your colleagues for any developments that took place at office in your absence. Enquire about the pending work that has to be cleared.

Start Clearing

Begin with clearing your inbox. Don't try to sift through the cluttered junk of your inbox in a single day. Take time and prioritize your replies.

Inform your Clients

Mail your clients about your return to work. Someone else might have been allotted the work you were doing in your absence. So inform them that you are back.

Take it slowly

Take it easy. Plan your work in a practical manner.

Look after yourself

Take care of your health. Don't overstrain.

It is quite natural that you will take time to recover completely. Post sickness blues might affect you for a while. Don't get disheartened. Rejuvenate yourself well before you get back to work.
