The pressures of alcohol can be summed up in a single phrase for a 16
year old male such as myself, peer pressure. Throughout my teenage years
i find myself constantly bullied by my own mind to fit in to modern day
youth society and take up drinking. However following an incident at a
party a dear friend of mine nearly died from alcohol consumption,
ironicly that night i was offered my first drink by my sister, i
refused. i struggle in my social skills and ever since that incident 2
years ago i have never had a night out and promised myslef not to drink,
its just not worth it...is it? however this friday i am attending
another party in which all my friends will be drinking and i will not
and yet again i find myself tormented by peer pressure to join my
friends and drink after all, these days people seem to need alcohol to
have fun and thats really sad isint it? I guess what im asking is how
can i stop torturing myself and resist destroying my beliefs in a can of
beer and still enjoy myself with friends?
