Sounds like an irony to me. Apart from some of the places that people may visit or the clean highways that are built with toll taxes, I don’t think Delhi has a good connection with cleanliness. I have lived in areas like Shahdara and Mahipalpur and I can guarantee that these can never reach to the level of Vasant Kunj and other high profile areas. The reason is simply the people who are living here. More than government, it is the people who define cleanliness of a place.

Here in Mahipalpur, people throw garbage on the street and it is piled up before somebody cares to pick it up. In vasant Kunj however, a person visits from door to door with a trolley and he collects garbage from all the houses and carries it to insulators that destroy the garbage in an environmental-friendly manner. Moreover, the toxic and non-toxic wastes are separately carried in these areas. I know only of these areas. Can anyone suggest something more about how they find Delhi?
