I can’t believe that a concept like “Child Marriage” still exists in this country. With all the development happening, how can such a practice still exist? As long as these practices continue in our country, we will never be able to get rid of the Third World status and more than half of our population will remain in poverty. I do not understand why people do not let their children study, grow up into responsible adults and make the choices of their life on their own. How can people let little children get married? I have heard of khaps and ban on inter-caste marriages, but this is the limit. I fail to understand why such a practice is followed. How is such a practice beneficial to anyone? I would say that if you can’t raise a child, do not give birth to it. How can people marry two children when they do not even know what marriage is?
