Thyroid patients need to take care of their diet to control their thyroid levels. Eat six small meals a day as thyroid patients should not stay hungry for a long time. So instead of taking three large meals a day change your routine to six small meals a day. Include more carbohydrates in your diet and drink plenty of water. You should drink at least sic to eight glasses of water a day. Apart from this take your medicines regularly and consult a doctor to check thyroid levels at regular intervals. Also, exercise regularly. Keeping a few things in mind will help you control your thyroid levels without going through a strenuous diet. Any other suggestions, anyone?

You can refer to these websites http://drhedberg.com/2011/03/04/action-plan-the-thyroid-diet/, http://www.myfoodmyhealth.com/Meal-Plans-Diets/Conditions/Hypothyroid.php, http://diet.lovetoknow.com/wiki/Thyroid_Diet, http://www.yogawiz.com/askquestion/1470/sattvic-yoga-diet-for-hypothyroidism-patients-diet.html, http://www.womentowomen.com/hypothyroidism/foods-naturalthyroidhealth.aspx,

to understand more about the diet that is suitable for a thyroid patient. The thyroid gland is one of the most important glands in the body as it controls the metabolic activity of the body, the amount of fat you put on or lose, the way your body utilizes the energy derived from food, the amount of sleep you get etc. Besides taking medicines, you can also keep a tab on your thyroid levels by carefully selecting the components of your diet. But the question is how do you select the right component? You should visit your physician and understand thoroughly the role of fruits and vegetables on your thyroid level and then decide which food items you would like to include in your diet. These links will give you a fair idea about the kind of diet you should follow to make sure your thyroid levels stay within the permitted levels. Furthermore, by switching over to a healthy and balanced diet, you keep your body fit and healthy and protected from different kinds of diseases. What do you think, friends?

It's a fact that patients having thyroid problem find it very difficult to shed weight. It may happen due to a number of reasons including leptin resistance, thyroid resistance, elevated reverse T3, insulin resistance, and other hormonal imbalances.

Since you are a thyroid patient therefore you may find that you have to workout harder, watch your diet more, and basically be more aware of how you are making positive strides towards losing weight.

Follow these tips regularly:

Drink a whole amount of water: For a regular diet it is recommended to drink alteast 8 glasses of water each day but for a thyroid patient should drink an additional glass of water for each pound he/she wish to lose.

Green tea once a day: Thyroid turns the body tired and sluggish. You can avoid that by having a cup of green tea once a day.

You can watch this helpful video to that tells you how you can lose weight with thyroid problem.

I hope this piece of information helped you!!
