In India, the older members of the family are respected and revered by all for thgeir experience and authority. To give respect to your elders any of the following Hindi poems can be used on cards, etc:
paavan si ek dhoop pita hai,
sneh bhara sambal pita hai,
surya ka prakash pita hai,
bachchon ka akaash pita hai.
sachchi raah dikhate papa,
padhna humein sikhaate papa,
humko yogya banate papa
jisne sab kuch sikhlaya hai,
koti naman aise papa ko,
jo har pal saath nibhaya hai.
apne bachche ko sulati hai,
khud to dhoop sehti hai,
bachche ko aanchal odhati hai,
to yeh dekhkar, maa mujhe tumhari yaad hai.
unki di hui shiksha hi apni daulat saari hai.
