Hi, I am a 30 year old Telugu guy and would like to know what Saptapadi means. I looked up the internet and found that it is similar to the Saat Fere in the North Indian culture. However, I want to know more details such as the meaning of the name, the origin of the custom, what the mantras that are chanted are and what are the vows that the bride and groom take during the Saptapadi. I am writing a book on Telugu marriage customs and rituals and want to know the details of all the customs and rituals involved so that I can include them in my book. Please help.
