Though women are now reaching new heights and are working at par with men, some of the legends that I admire are:

Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi

Indira Gandhi was the first female Prime Minister of India. She remained the prime minister of India for three consecutive terms (1966 – 1977). She was elected as the Prime Minister of India for the fourth time in 1980 but he died in 1984.

Kalpana Chawla

Kalpana Chawla was an Indian scientist. She was a NASA astronaut in America. She died in a space shuttle Columbia disaster.

Kiran Bedi

Kiran Bedi was the first Indian woman police officer who joined Indian police in 1972. She served the nation for more than 35 years with tough, innovative and welfare policy.

Meera Sahib Fatima Beevi

Fatima Beevi was the first woman judge of the Supreme Court of India. She was the first Muslim lady to be appointed as a judge in Higher Judiciary.

Chanda Kochhar

She was appointed as a member of team to set the ICICI bank and became DGM of ICICI bank in 1996. She became the deputy managing director of ICICI bank in 2006. She holds a large number of prestigious honors and awards to her credit.
