Rani Laxmi Bai was born as Manikarnika in a Brahmin family. She was called Manu. She was very independent even as a child and her interests were in horseriding, archery and self defence. She got married to  the Maharaja of Jhansi and gave birth to a son who they called Damodar Rao. Unfortunately, her son died very young and later the Maharaja adopted a child who was named Damodar Rao. This child was denied his right to the throne by the British because he was adopted. Rani Laxmi Bai took on up to her to redeem the throne and protect her kingdom. I want to know more about Rani Laxmi Bai’s story. Please share a few more details.

Rani Laxmi Bai was one of the bravest and feistiest women in the Indian Freedom Struggle. She was born as Manikarnika and married to the Maharaja of Jhansi. Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi was a prominent figure during the rebellion against the British Raj. After her husband was killed, Rani Laxmi Bai took upon her the onus to free her kingdom from the clutches of the British. Even today, Rani Laxmi Bai is considered the epitome of bravery and courage.

You can find more information about this great lady on websites such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rani_Lakshmibai, http://besttoppers.com/top-10-freedom-fighters-india/, http://www.preservearticles.com/2011080410121/114-words-short-paragraph-on-rani-lakshmi-bai-for-kids.html.
