Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar was born into a Rajapur Sarawat Brahmin family to Ramesh Tendulkar and Rajni Tendulkar on April 24, 1973. His father named him after the famous music director Sachin Dev Burman. Sachin was a gifted cricketer right from childhood and his talent was discovered by coach Ramakant Achrekar who fine tuned his skills. Sachin started playing for the country at a very young age and evolved as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. Sachin is considered by many as the God of Cricket and is adored by millions across the country.
