Indian Foreign Service (IFS) is one of the prestigious central services that people can undertake offered by the government of India. The officers selected under IFS correspond for the country in the Global Platform. Indian Foreign Service officers handle vital issues like the country's external affairs which include bureaucratic relations, trade and cultural associations. Indian Foreign Service manages the foreign missions and the officers who are to be posted on these missions. Furthermore, Indian Foreign Service department is also responsible for implementing Indian government's foreign policies. It is not possible to name the officers posted across 160 Indian embassies all across the globe, for it is confidential information.

The Indian Foreign Service is one of the most prestigious service cadres in India. It falls under the Group A and Group B category of the Indian Civil Services. Hundreds and thousands of aspirants appear for the Indian Civil Services Examinations hoping to get selected. The examination for these public service officers are very tough and require a lot of preparation. Aspirants spend months and in some cases years to get through the examination. The selected candidates go through intensive training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie before assuming office. You can find out more about the Indian Foreign Services on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Foreign_Service, http://ifs.nic.in/main.asp. Can someone please a list of all Indian Foreign Services Officers?
