Rabindranath Tagore who is fondly called Gurudev was the greatest poet born in India so far. Tagore is remembered for his work in the field of music and literature and he is credited with reshaping the music and literature of Eastern India. Born in West Bengal, Tagore used to write his poems in Bengali which were translated in Hindi. Tagore was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913, making him the first non-European to win the title. Tagore’s poems are still read by millions of people across the world.
