Here are some nice and small inspirational thoughts for students:

“Failure is Success if we learn from it”.

We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not and act but a habit.

Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.

It is better to be alone than in bad company.

The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary.

Anything the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.

A man is but the product of his thoughts. He becomes what he thinks.

He, who opens a school door, closes the doors of a prison.

The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be ignited.

The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.

You must be the change you wish to see in the world.

Such quotes inspire students to think in the right direction. As a student, any one of these thoughts can completely change your life. I think there was something that Mahatma Gandhi had read which made him what he was, though I am unable to recall it. Can anyone throw light on this?

Mahatma Gandhi picked up a loads of clues in his journey towards a higher self. Do not know which particular instance you are talking about.

On the habit of reading and keeping good quotes, it is indeed the best one can do to stay sane in this world! :)
