India is a culturally diverse country. Not only does the land of Indian exhibit the richness of a variety of castes but a plethora of regional wear as well. Not only do these dresses set India apart from the rest of the world but also bring in an assorted flavor to our cultural status. India is divided into a variety of states and each state sports its own regional attire. At the 26th January Parade each year, every state displays its unique culture, practices and attire as a part of the Parade. The Parade is a colorful affair and receives attention from across the world. What do you say - Is India's cultural diversity worth a mention?

Obviously it is! Whether it`s Bengali style of wearing a sari or Mekhla-chadar of Assam...we like every bit of our cultural variety. Colorful turbans, tribal headgears, lungi from South, Kaftan from Kashmir...when it can inspire the imaginations of international designers, why won`t it be inspiring for proud Indians :)

India is a land of diverse cultures and traditions. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the costumes of the people differ vastly. However, the predominant style of dressing for women remains saree or salwar kameez. The women of North India, comprising Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab etc wear salwar kameez. The people of South India have distinctively different as the women wear silk sarees and men wear dhotis or mundus. The women of West Bengal wear a white saree with red border and the men wear dhoti and pajabi. The people of Rajasthan and Gujarat are known for their colourful clothes and attractive jewellery.
