Kids of all age groups take pride in learning poems. Even children from class 3 enjoy Hindu poems to the fullest. They dance and perform hand actions while learning more and more. From “Nanhamunharahihoon” to “ Veer tum badhechalo” all have an impact on us. These beautiful poems teach the young ones about bravery, honour and respect. Some poems like “Titli rani” speak volumes about nature’s beauty! Which was your favourite poem back then?

You can refer to this sample:

Main Badal Ban Jaoon

Kitna Hi Achcha Ho

Yadi Main Badal Ban Jaoon

Neele Neele Aasman Mein

Idhar Udhar Mandraoon

Jab Bhi Dekhoon Sookhi Dharti

Jhatpat Pighal Jaoon

Garmi Se Tang Logon ko

Thandak Main Pohonchaoon

Khushi Khushi Se Gad Gad Karke

Main Cham Cham Boondein Laoon

Isiliye to Kehta Hoon

Main Badal Ban Jaoon

This is a very simple poem that your child can pick up easily. You can also add a catchy tune to it so that your child can memorise it easily. You can also look up these websites http://hindi.webdunia.com/miscellaneous/kidsworld/poems/, http://www.geeta-kavita.com/indian_poetry_list.asp, http://www.geeta-kavita.com/indian_poetry_list.asp?theme=Bal_Kavita . You can find many more simple poems in Hindi on the Internet. You can also check You Tube to look up for poems that have been made into songs and have animated videos. This is sure to interest your child and make him want to learn the poems. There are other poems such as `Lal Tamatar`, `Machli Jal Ki Raani Hai`, `Aalu Kachalu` etc which have been animated beautifully to entertain children. Any other suggestions, anybody?
