When it comes to great women achievers of India, the list goes on and on. Its very difficult to pick one and leave out the others. If we talk about women achievers from pre-independence era, Kadambini Ganguly and Chandramukhi Basu are names that can’t be left out. They are the first Indian female graduates of India. Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit is another achiever who became the first woman and Indian president of UN General Assembly. Then we also have Kiran Bedi who became the first women to join the Indian Police Service. If we talk about the corporate sector, Indra Nooyi, the president of Pepsi Cola stands out from the rest. Another unknown yet brave women achiever is Shanti Tigga who is the first lady jawan of Indian Army. Another name that cannot be forgotten is Kalpana Chawla, the first Indian born woman to go to space. |
