Famous English poems taught in school

There are many English poems that are taught in school, many of them are by famous poets like William Wordsworth and many others. Some of the famous poems taught in school include:




 




  1. Daffodils – William Wordsworth




  2. Oh Captain My Captain – Walt Whitman




  3. How Do I Love Thee? – Elizabeth Barett Browning




  4. The Tyger – William Blake




  5. Because I could not stop for death – Emily Dickenson




  6. A blessing- James Wright




  7. Do not go that gentle into Good night – Dylan Thomas




  8. My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun – William Shakespeare




  9. As I walked out one evening – W.H. Auden




  10. Somewhere I never travelled, gladly beyond – E.E Cummings.

`Daffodils` by William Wordsworth has always been my favorite. Love the spirit of the poem! The song `fireflies` by Owl City evokes similar feelings.
