Between classes 3 and 5, children go through major cognitive development. If they are exposed to good literature at this stage, it helps their growth in many ways. Getting to know famous English poems like A Good Boy, by Robert Louis Stevenson; At the Zoo by William Thackeray; A Christmas Carol by G.K. Chesterton and The Children’s Hour by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, is beneficial for the young learners. They understand the language better and also develop a taste for poetry.
