You could have a classroom scenario where one actor mimics their English teacher. Also, it being the teachers’ day, there can be a short skit on how students rely on good teachers for problem solving. Another good idea is to show the staff room and all the teachers talking amongst themselves. If there has been any incident of some child getting extra help from a teacher, the same can be represented by way of a skit.

Well it depends on how long the play is suppose to be. I think you should go with a comedy, not because they’re easier or anything. (Because all actors and directors know that isn’t true) I just think it would be easier to recover if they mess up. Not that they will, I’m just saying, for the teacher’s sake, when trying to impress a teacher, comedies are usually the safer bet. You can do You Can't Take it With You, Mixed Nuts, Rumors, The Odd Couple.
If you want something shorter and more dramatic you can go with Bang, Bang You're Dead. Which is free to buy and you cannot charge people to see. It is a one act and is really easy production wise, but it is very heavy subject matter and takes a lot of emotion strain on the actors. So I don’t know if that’s a good choice for Teachers Day.
To keep the mood lighter you can go with something short, sweet and funny. You can do a comedic one act like the 15 Minute Hamlet, 10,000 Cigarettes, Family 2.0, The Three Wise Men's Dumber Younger Brothers, The Tragical Tale of Melissa McHiney McNormous McWhale or The Variations on the Death of Trotsky.

Very true Jahnavi, skits should definitely contain moral values too. I had prepared my college skits based on some of the best Akbar Birbal moral based stories which went super hit during my college days.
Simply have a look
