Mahatma Gandhi the Father of our Nation, is considered with great respect and reverence by all citizens of India. Not only has he taught India the virtue of non-violence and compassion, he has influenced numerous world leaders and scientists with the likes of Martin Luther King and Albert Einstein. While India has had many freedom fighters, Mahatma Gandhi adopted a unique and different path bringing a break-through in the stalemate that the nation was facing against the British. He had people of all communities, religions and regions who supported him and his cause; in fact many Marathis were even a part of his campaign and served him in his ashram. While there may be a few extremists most Indians love and revere Bapu.
