Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi or more popularly known as Mahatma Gandhi or Bapu is rightfully called as the Father of our Nation. Not only did Mahatma Gandhi create quite a stir with his Non Cooperation Movement in India, he is also responsible for bringing up numerous reforms and changes against apartheid in South Africa.  A rather simple and spiritual man, Mahatma Gandhi was known for his strong convection and determination. He believed in the principles of Non Violence and with that one principle he was able to shake the very foundations of the British Empire and rule in India. In fact, he is known for various movements like the Salt Satyagraha, Non Corporation Movement and the Quit India Movement.

I have half read his autobiography - The Story of My Experiments with Truth. It is actually inspiring to know that how an average man with his weaknesses and limitations resumed to get over those with steady steps in the direction. It is more of a motivational story with the message that any average man can rise to great heights if he decides to get over his average-ness!

Hi All,

Few question I had, please allow me to ask:

Because of Gandhi's non-voilence and so called other great movements made thousands of indians killed... but he was never even hurt. Great Indian sons' like Bhagat singh, Azad and many more have made real sacrifices and got burnet their soul in the movement while great gandhi just sat watching all indians (his so called followers) die.

Why anybody never asked Gandhi a question about accepting 2 parts for India..now called India and Pakistan ? While Englishmen were leaving India already, there was no obligation or force to accept division of India. then why he accepted that?

Problem with us, Indians, is that inspite of being highly intelligent, we just like to accept whatever has been dished out to us. No questions asked, ever.

Whats the use of showing so many movies on other great soldiers of india when you all will not change your opinion at all? Whats the use of telling you all the truth?

Kindly note that I respect India and I do respect Gandhi a lot, but I also believe that not everything Gandhiji did was right. Few things he did to estalish his own

Born as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, this great leader attained the status of Mahatma or Great Soul through his relentless fight against the British for the freedom of his country and his supreme love for his motherland. A trained barrister, Mahatma Gandhi was an advocate of non-violence, tolerance and civil rights. His passive aggression took the British Raj by storm. He resorted to weapons like Satyagraha and boycott of foreign made goods to free India from the clutches of the British. His belief in righteousness inspired many young minds such as Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Vallabhai Patel, who went on to play a significant role in giving India the form she has today. You can find a lot more information on this great man at http://www.mkgandhi.org/,

.

Do you think Gandhiji would have been happy to see India today?
