A latest research has revealed that good-looking people are inclined to have more social relationships which result in an increased sense of mental fitness.
The research was carried by the scientists of University of Georgia and the University of Kansas. It recommends that the impact of our good-looks on our social circuit is indirectly related to the social environment we reside in.
However, good-looks do not hold much importance in rural areas as compared to more socially mobile, city areas.
In urban areas, people go through a high level of social alternative, and relating with good-looking individuals is one of those alternatives. In other words, excessive socialization in urban areas make good-looks more vital for achieving social contacts and accordingly for feeling good.
While in rural areas relationships is not only about choice but more regarding who is residing in the community. Thus, good-looks are not generally related with socializing and feeling good.
In cities the women need not have below average looks to undergo a weakened sense of happiness and social life. The researchers claim that the study results are generally perceived as having an accepted and global applicability. However, the study recommends that this is not the case. Rather, the prominence of good looks differs with certain sociocultural environments, and urban areas are in fact a relatively latest addition to human existence.
