Pistachios or 'skinny nut’ is one of the highest fibre nuts with minimum calorie and fat content. Moreover, it has been suggested by the 2009 Dietary Guidelines for a Healthy Living to reduce the chances of chronic diseases.

The study was published by the department of Science and Technology, the Diabetes Foundation of India and National Foundation of Diabetes, Obesity and Cholesterol Disorders. It revealed that 30 pistachios a day make a pleasing, lip-smacking, healthy snack for about 100 calories.

As per the research these nuts offer vital nutrients and can restrain hunger by providing fulfillment between meals. In this way they help in sustaining ideal weight and fitness in Indian adults.

India is experiencing a rapid change in diet and lifestyle patterns with a speedy increase of obesity, diabetes and heart ailments. Appropriate dietary control remains the foundation for the prevention and control of these ailments.

The researchers said that based on the proof , it was found that a portion of evident and non-evident fats from animal foods should be altered with whole nuts such as pistachios and almonds as it leads to metabolic advantages.

Pistachios are generally called skinny nuts because they are rich in fibre and protein. You usually eat less but end up feeling fuller and satisfied. A 25 gram plateful of pistachios constitute 2.6 gram of fibre.

Eating nuts like walnuts,almonds,pistachios,peanuts,cashew nuts are really good for health. Walnuts and almond are the good source of vitamin E and calcium,potassium,magnesium,zinc ,copper etc. which helps to protect the heart problems like stroke,heart attack and cancer.Walnut contain omega 3 fatty acids which reduces the cholesterol level. Pistachios ,peanuts,cashew nuts contain vitamin B and lots of protein and fiber,iron. so the nuts are really healthy diet for health.

one should eat nuts,fruits,sprouts,salads,maximum raw to avoid ailments.....there is no escape!

I guess nuts are the best bet for mothers. With busy life schedules, they stay assured that thier kids are taking in some healthy stuff!

But never overeat nuts. Daily 6 to 7 pcs is more than enough for us...Overeating will increase the baody temp and end up heatboils
