Planning for a holiday and asking suggestions from your friends on the popular tourist hot-spots?! Time to do some research on your own and you will discover destinations that are located on the well-trodden pathway. Have a quick look on few such locales which are near the well-known Jim Corbett National Park in Nainital, around 250 km away from New Delhi. * A small village called Kumeria is situated 22 km away from the wildlife sanctuary’s first entrance. You can explore the night safaris, fishing, rock climbing and elephant safari in Kumeria. During the British regime, this reserve jungle was also their hunting ground. You can also catch a glimpse of their old guest houses there. * Around 20 km away from the main entrance of Jim Corbett park, you will spot the natural waterfalls, Corbett falls. You can spend long hours here under the cool water in the summer season. * Other unexplored locations are Garjia and Sitavani which are a 20-minute drive from Ramnagar, a small town situated 19 km from sanctuary’s main entrance. The shrine of Garjia Mata is 6 km away from Ramnagar and stands on a giant rock in the center of Kosi river. Another mesmerizing place is the shrine of deity Sita is 21 km away and is better known for its three adjoining waterfalls. * Kaladunghi, is well-known as the winter home of late Jim Corbett. If you want to explore the world of the late conservationist, then you can visit the Jim Corbett museum where all his private possessions are well maintained.

Hey thanks parul, really informative and read this post at the right time because one of my friend's mom is heading to Nainital now for a vacation and she wanted to know abt the place. To your embark on the beaten course, I would like to add in some few more destinations that I came across in the Femina Magazine. It said that travellers today are getting down and dirty with unusual itineries that leave them smarter and a whole lot happier. So they suggested some places like Fiordland which is in New Zealand. The best time to go isin Apr- June and Dec. If you want some more info on the place I suggested from the Femina magazine, then log on to www.newzealand.com/travel or if you are looking for some more exotic destinations, you can refer Femina magazine ... :)
