Throughout the week you work hard. You battle with the traffic you quarrel with your colleagues and bang your head against the wall when you have to meet a deadline. After all this you deserve a break. And more importantly you should take a break as that is necessary for you physical and mental well being. There is absolutely no time for ourselves throughout the week and weekends are one time when you finally get out of the grind and see the daylight. So to de-stress yourself you should plan out your weekend well. Some interesting ways to beat the stress of the week long grind are as follows:
You can go out for dinner with your friends and family if you are a complete foodie. You can also go to a nearby pub and make new friends by socializing. Don’t make plans with your colleagues because then you will feel that you are having an office party. You can also go out for a two day trip nearby your city. It can be very refreshing and rejuvenating for you. You can have a work out session if you are a fitness freak. Make the session interesting by calling your friends and family to join in. Catch a movie or read a book which is fun and light reading. You can also go out and party at a discotheque with your friends but a word of caution don’t drink too much as you definitely don’t want to wake up all groggy on Monday morning.

I agree with these article. Spending quality time with your family on weekends will make you refresh & more energetic to work in next week. Leave out the office stress & enjoy fully your weekend with your friends & famiy.
