i have been married for 7 years now, my sisiter in law is 2months younger to me and was married 2 yrs before me. the thing is she and my mother in law expect me to her feet every time she visits our home. to do it to her husband is ok he is elder but me for no reason. my husband as well as myself are elder to her? i hav firmly said once that i wont but my mother in law is so mean she at occassions asks me to do.i am elder to her in all ways her bhabhi but still... want some perfect solution to get rid of this.. enen i need to b respected right!!

Hi friend....... I think I may help you..... Ur Mom in Law does it in the name of ritual.......At the other occasion when they ask you to do so say them if elderly person fall at the feet of younger then the age spam of the younger one will reduce....this is a belief in our culture that we weive our sins and mistakes with the blessing and experience of our elders.... But when the person to whose feet we bow is younger it gets replica effect.....
