Marriages are expensive I agree, but Without marriage living together is not acceptable.Our Indian Culture have fame and great value in the world... And we Indians are famous for our joined families and Long marriages. You know Only in India, we people celebrate Lots of 50 years wedding Anniversary and 60th marriage ( In South India when the husband reaches 60 years of age - we celebrate that as wedding to the parents again in the same original way like the first wedding and to get blessing from the couple is special) 

 Living together without marriage is a fancy name for you know what. How ladies can be so naive,beats me. Such an arrangement  is a boon for men and a bane for women.Men always want sexual favors from girls with minimum liabilities and commitments. One fine morning ,the bugger will marry the girl of his parent's choice without as much a glance backwards ,and his'true love' will be left behind holding his memories and memorabilia in her arms.!!!!!!!

The answer is in the fact that this is a debatable topic. What is the difference between the two?? Commitment! If a couple is really in love they'll naturally want to get married.

As Eskay said, live-in is a fancy word for fling. Where couple are aware of their own failure at truly loving someone.

 Living together is the norm of the animal kingdom.The animals live together for the sole purpose of mating and procreation.No commitment of any kind whatsoever. Our liberated youngsters have improved it further by living together for mating only. The homosapiens are staging a come back
