I feel my English is not very good. Now I am married and live in Pune. I have just got a job with a multinational but am scared about my English. Do you think I should do some course to better my spoken English? Will they judge me for my English? Or will they judge me for the work I do? I am very confused.

People will judge you by the kind of work you do. But those who interact with you only for a few minutes will judge you by your language skills. So join a course, live and breathe English.

dear friend, my suggestion is that you could also read newspapers and story books in English to better your communication skills. They are such fun ways. Begin with Enid Blyton books.

Listen to television (not watch!) and listen to the radio. In your mind, have conversations in English. This is the best way to keep in touch with the language. Viji

hii ananya.. it's nice that u recognize what you wanna improve in urself.. trust in urself that u can talk in a very friendly manner in english. but first of all you have to work on it. try reading english newspapers, magazines of ypur choice. ask your husband to help you in this respect. try to express your views by thinking then first in hindi and then translating them into english. if you like watching movies than watch hollywood flicks. And moreover what is more important than this is your work which should be more audible than your words!!! So keep your spirits high. Cheers :-)
