There are ways to avoid being caught in a group outing every time you travel in a group. Of course there are many advantages when traveling in a group, especially if you are visiting an unfamiliar locale. Doing things usually works better when done in a group rather than when done solo. Travelling in a group is more economical, and also saves you the hassle of planning about a place which you know little about. But the main problem is the lack of privacy with your loved one when you are surrounded most of the time by a motley group of travelers.

Here are some tips which you could keep in mind if you find yourself spending more time with the group rather than your loved one!

1) If shopping is included in your itinerary, then be selective and spend some quality time with your partner in the confines of your hotel room while the rest are away shopping.

2) If you are a traveling by train then ask your travel agent in advance to reserve a coupe meant for two people. This ensures privacy.

3) If your trip is for seven days, then you could extend it by a couple of days more so that once your group leaves you and your partner can explore the place alone.

4) You need not stick to the schedule that your travel agent has drawn for you. Especially, during meat times, you could ask for exploring some place alone and agree to meet the rest of the group at an appointed place.

5) Look out for optionals in a group travel programme, which means there are certain places you have the choice of skipping. Instead you and your partner could simply relax in the hotel room or just explore some other place.

6) Try to find out from your travel agent if there is any scope for customization in your group travel itenarary. For example, if you are on a honeymoon, then you could surely expect to be treated specially.

7) If you are traveling with a group of relatives then inform them of your independent plans if any while you are traveling with them, well in advance, so that no misunderstanding crops up in the last minute, and you could also avoid being obliged to go with them to certain places when you would rather spend some time alone.

8) Check all the details thoroughly, like while booking for accommodation, see if there are private cottages in the place where the rest of the group is staying, so that you could make a request for a booking, like wise while traveling make sure that you are both allotted adjacent seats.

Most important, do not ignore your companion, even if you find a few in your group more interesting than your loved one.
