Situated far away from the hustle and bustle of Goa`s popular beaches, this 65,000-sq.m large hermitage overlooks the village of Arpora and the golden sands of Calangute, Baga and Candolim.

The grand interiors of the hotel and the room finishes are beautifully done, and the decor is exquisite - round bedrooms with colonial style beds canopied in mosquito netting, spacious suites cooled naturally by the breeze, dome roofs and Arab windows. Antique wall hangings and artefacts from the Ajwanis` personal collection, lends an intimate touch to the rooms.

Nilaya has a lovely swimming pool and an open-air restaurant serving Mediterranean cuisine prepared by a French chef, who changes the menu everyday. There is also a jogging trail, a tennis court and a gym as well as an Ayurveda centre.
