A first-aid kit may add nothing to your trip but extra bulk. However, in an emergency you`ll be glad to have even the most basic medical supplies. Pre packaged kits are available, but you can pack your own from the following list:
A first-aid manual
Aspirin
Antiseptic
Antibacterial ointment
Antihistamines
Cortisone cream
An antacid
Something for diarrhoea
Insect repellent
Calamine lotion
Sunscreen
Adhesive bandages
A thermometer in a sturdy case
Razor blades
Tweezers
A needle
Scissors
Depending on the health conditions in your destination, you might also ask a doctor for a general antibiotic. If you`re prone to motion sickness or are planning to use particularly rough modes of transportation in your travels, take along some medication on your doctor`s advice. Women, do remember, if you`re prone to yeast infections, over-the-counter medications can save you grief on the road.
