Planning a trip to Egypt? Well then, a few tips won't go awry. Visiting an arid desert area always needs more caution.
Always acclimatise yourself to the weather there. It takes a few days to adjust to the desert.
Don't venture out into the sunlight. Stay in the shade as much as possible.
If you do experience a sandstorm, stay put in your car or hotel. Do not venture out into the storm.
Always be careful of what you eat. It's very easy to get an upset stomach in the desert.
Always make sure your bedding is a few feet off the ground. Scorpions, snakes and poisonous spiders are commonly found in deserts.
What to wear:
Egypt is an old fashioned conservative country. Tourists need to be careful about what they wear there.
Wear cotton if you're visiting in summer. Wear layers of clothing in winter. Synthetics don't really help. Loose flowing garments are the best.
Always keep your head and the back of your neck covered in desert areas. It helps prevent a heat stroke.
Wear comfortable walking shoes. Or you could have a tough time walking around Egypt.
Ensure you have sunglasses and plenty of drinking water.
