What are calories?

Before discussing about Good Calories, Bad Calories let us first understand what are calories. Fats are utilized by the body to build up tissues and muscles of the brains and are also useful in the workings of the hormone system of the body. When these fats are not processed properly due to excess consumption of the same then it tends to accumulate in the body which is visible in the increase of our body weight. Fat is burned by the body to release energy and calorie is the measurement unit of energy. Calories measure the energy that is afforded to the body due to the consumption of food. The former is essential for the proper functioning of the body.

Good Calories, Bad Calories

Calories are essential for the proper functioning of the body and inclusion of fats and calories are important for the diet. The distinction between Good Calories, Bad Calories is very difficult to estimate especially when you are on a weight loss session.
Good calories are those that help you to process the necessary amount of energy that is important for the working of the body. Fatty fishes such as mackerel, salmon and sardines are considered to be good fat intake for the body. Carbohydrate is another thing that needs to be included in moderate amounts in your daily meals. Sugar is also essential for maintaining the blood sugar level of the body. Nuts is moderate amounts especially almonds are good calorie intakes for the body.
Bad calories are those that are harmful for the body and only work to increase the weight of the body. Eating of excess fatty food, fried foods and junk foods are what is called taking in bad calories.

So the concept of Good Calories, Bad Calories is mostly based on the portion of the sizes that are included in your daily diet. Good calories and bad calories needs to be balanced properly in order to draw up an effective diet chart. Keeping in mind that some amount of fat is essential for the body system to work yet excess of the same may lead to gaining of a few pounds that is harmful for the body.
