Working women often feel confused about how to handle their pregnancy at work and how to disclose the news to their employer? Don`t stress yourself as it is common, and if you have a normal pregnancy you can go to the office regularly until few weeks before delivery. Though some women quit their job during early days of pregnancy due to complications, others take their office as a great way to overcome this long period. As the pregnancy progress, you may feel tired and dizzy but some tips can help you feel better:

Break the News Early: Your pregnancy might affect your work plans so keep in mind all prospects before informing others in your office. You can hide the news during the first trimester but break it among your colleagues before anyone starts suspecting. Your boss will be curious to know your maternity leave plans and how you`ll manage your routine so inform him or her well before. Don`t hide the news for long as your sudden absence may mark a bad impression. Act as a good professional and inform your boss in advance so that he/she can find a replacement or distribute your work among others on time.

Reduce Morning Sickness
: It`s obvious that you suffer from morning sickness, but you can minimize it by eating light. Try to incorporate things such as ginger tea or lemonade in your breakfast as it helps in reducing drowsiness. Keep mint candies with you and have them at regular intervals.

Bathroom Breaks: During pregnancy, you need to visit the bathroom frequently so engage your work activities with your bathroom visits. During meetings sit close to doors to avoid any disturbance in case you need to flee in the middle of it.

Managing Regular Check-ups: Take appointments from your doctor in advance for your parental check-up as it helps you in scheduling your work. Try to arrange early morning or late evening appointment so that it does not affect your work, and you need not to take a leave for that.

Enjoy in the Office:
Your mood variations may soon start flowing so to keep them in control, relax and remove stress by listening to soft music, do simple stretch exercises on your seat, and avoid extra work.

Shoes: When you`re pregnant, you should take special care of yourself. Long heels may not make you feel comfortable as your belly expands and pressure arises on your feet. Wear comfortable and flat sandals or shoes to prevent risk.

Commute Properly: Start half an hour before your usual time for your office and find an easy way to commute. Don`t stress yourself by moving in heavy traffic and try to keep a company for commuting as you may need help anytime.

Read Company Policy and Know your Rights: If you want to return to your job after your delivery, go through company policies once and maternity leaves to avoid any confusion later.
