How to exercise your Brain

You often follow a rigorous training schedule to keep our body fit and active but have your ever considered the mental exercise. As brain is a think tank, it grows and learns through mental exercises. Mental exercises improve the memory, concentration and abstract reasoning among people. You should do some mental exercises to improve your learning power as it would help you throughout your life as a student, during career, and in other areas as well. Intelligent minds are liked by everyone and mental exercising is a unique way to enhance that. As brain is the command center of your body and regulates the functioning of all body parts, mental exercises would help to strengthen your mental abilities.

As brain actually processes information and use that information to execute various functions, you must have a great memory and some mental exercises that would help to achieve that are:
  • Solving puzzles and playing brain games are one of the best exercises for your brain. You can solve puzzles such as sudoko, crosswords, rearranging letters, and forming words from the letters. Daily newspapers are a big source of all these games or you can even solve them online. All these games and puzzles would improve your concentration, thinking ability, memory, etc.
  • Reading is a good mental exercise, so ensure that you dedicate sometime to read books, news papers, etc. Reading acts as a stimulus to your brain and you`ll become more knowledgeable while reading something or the other.
  • You often meet people from different communities during your college days, office, etc. Whenever you meet someone from a different cultural background, try to learn his/her native language. While learning a new language, you need to remember new words and sounds that improve your memory and sharpen your auditory skills.
  • Relate: Whenever you learn something new, try to relate it with previously acquired information. Try to learn people`s phone numbers, address, etc to improve your memory.
  • Changing your habits also sharpen your brain activity so break the regular habits. When you perform your regular activities in a new or unexpected way, your brain have to think in a different manner thus breaking the used way of thinking.
  • Socializing is a great way to exercise your brain as meeting with new people, sharing thoughts and ideas, conversations, etc let your brain to think differently.
  • Recall things that you have in your to-do list or other such important work as it will help to test your memory.

Do these mental exercises as it will improve your intelligence and have a good impact on your mental abilities.
