Less Sleep increases risk of stroke in women .New studies have divulged a significant fact, immensely important for women. Researches have revealed that lack of sleep, to a great extent can give rise to increased risk of women heart ailments than in case of men. It is recommended that, an individual should have at least 8 hours of sleep regularly. If some one sleeps less than that recommended limit, then, it will give rise to various heart problems in women and will lead to severe heart attacks or strokes. The point goes more precisely with women, as the risk is far higher in their case.
Women in general, happen to be the pillar of the family and carry on excessive responsibility for well-being of the family. As woman of today also perform active part in outside world so the responsibility ought to be far greater. The women, with their sea of commitments towards their near and dear ones, never get enough time to take adequate care for themselves. The studies have disclosed that the lack of sleep will hit them hard, so it is high time that they should make it a point, not to compromise with the sleeping itinerary at least.
The University of Warwick and University College London has conducted a research and it has revealed that the levels of inflammatory markers significantly vary due to the duration women sleep for and it is no way the case for the men folk. The researchers have also found out that, the level of Interleukin-6 or IL-6 is very low in case of women who sleep for lower hour on an average than the normal schedule of 8 hours. Variations have also been seen even if the sleeping hour is about 7 hours. Interleukin-6 is a marker which is related to coronary heart diseases and therefore the variation counts a lot.
There is another marker, called, High-sensitivity C-reactive protein or hs-CRP. This marker predicts the morbidity level of the cardio vascular system in the future.
It has been seen that, the women who sleep on an average of about 5 hours and even less have this marker ranging significantly to a higher level
According to Michelle Miller, Associate Professor of Biochemical Medicine at Warwick Medical School, this deprivation in sleep might cause disorder in inflammatory mechanisms, which play a great role in enhancing risk of cardio vascular diseases in women deprived of their daily sleep.
The studies also put forward the important findings that lack of sleep in women increases risk of death on ground of cardiovascular failures as; it has been observed that in case of long sleepers, the causes of deaths are mostly non cardio vascular diseases and longevity is also ensured.
So sleep well and help your heart sustain for years ahead.
